Janjou Pâtisserie is a delightful escape into French perfection. The ambiance is a blend of charm and sophistication, making it a visual treat. Now, let’s talk coffee – it’s not just a drink here; it’s an experience. The latte and cappuccino are stellar choices, providing the perfect companionship for dipping their heavenly croissants 🥐.
Speaking of which, if you’re fortunate enough to spot the Pecan All around dessert, consider it a stroke of luck – a creamy, soft masterpiece that reflects pure culinary finesse. It’s a testament to the artistry in their pastries that elevates the entire experience.
The hustle and bustle at Janjou Pâtisserie are a testament to its excellence. Despite the crowd, the customer service remains top-notch, ensuring your every need is met. It’s no mystery why this place is always buzzing – a perfect blend of exceptional treats, cozy ambiance, and impeccable service. 🥐☕✨
The line was very long and it went out the door. There was very limited seating in the establishment. The air was blasting which made it very uncomfortable. The croissants were amazing and very good. I'm sure most of the pastries are excellent. However, the Mocha was an absolute let down. It was basically chocolate milk. At this kind of establishment everything is expected to taste perfect. Next time I will visit for to go pasties only.
Food that looked as good as it tasted. Tried the quiche Lorraine and the goat cheese vegetarian quiche. Texture, flavor, and appearance were all excellent and left me picking every last piece out of the box they came in. Had a salmon, onion, caper and cucumber sandwich on a plain croissant. Lots more beautiful pastry to try on a future visit. A little on the spendy side. Busy with lots of people and small tables. Friendly and down to earth employees behind the counter. Definitely need to stop by again.
Best family owned business on a planet. You must try their pastries. Yes, you have to wait to get your order, because half of the world in the line.
Too die for! Everything was fresh and quality made. They do have more than whats in my pictures. I recomend ordering ahead online so you get everything you want beacuse they do sell out of some fast.
My little heaven on earth! I love Janjou and all the delicious pastries they make. It’s a bit pricey but very well worth it. I mean their croissants are even better than the ones I had in Paris. We love this cute little cafe for mother daughter date! I only wish they had more open hours.
Decadent and delicious desserts and pastries. I was surprised with the cost as they’re even more expensive than Seattle, but clearly that doesn’t bother the people around here as they sell out daily (so go early). One of the more impressive offerings I’ve seen in a while. Their pastries are pieces of art.
I don’t live in Boise, but my goodness, Janjou certainly makes me wish that I did! Would I drive fours again to just visit this paradise on earth that is a patisserie! Oh my ears and whiskers, why yes I most certainly would!!
The interior is spotlessly clean, charming, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Janjou offers a slice of heaven on earth with their fine pastries! This little shop is intimate (so do please be respectful of the sign on the door that limits the number of people in the store at a time). Though during the warmer times of the year there is a delightful outdoor eating area that will make you feel as though you have been transplanted from Boise to somewhere much more exotic and romantic! This would be an ideal spot for a first date, or a special light meal out, or for just you daily dose of sweet delights.
The hazelnut choux au craquelin pastry that I had was an almost holy experience! (I may have been transported to a state of nirvana briefly.) The hazelnut cream and then the candied chestnut on top did a tap dance on my tastebuds! I nearly wept into my pastry it was “that good!”
I also had a slice of quiche with greens on the side. (If you order this prepare to wait for a bit as they heat it up in the OVEN! No bloody microwave here my dears! This ensures that you quiche is not only hot but that the crust remains crisp and light). It was single-handedly that very best piece of quiche I have experienced in my life! Yes it was an experience! Gorgeously silky smooth cheesy egg custard with fresh (not frozen) spinach made it fluffy and light on the tongue and contrasted deftly with the thin flaky crust.
Finally, to top it all off it was lovely as we were checked in on by Moshit herself, the genius behind all of this tasty magic. I watched as she checked in on customers taking time to greet return customers like friends and seeing how new people were doing as well.
I have not had such good pastry since being in London and Paris, so to find something like this in Boise was a charming surprise. Do try Janjou I cannot recommend it enough. It is worth making a trip for! It was truly a lovely and transcendent food experience and I wish I could give it more than five stars!
